There might be many reasons we decide to bind our lives with 3D CG industry. For some it's the passion for video games, movies, architecture, to others it's an extension to traditional art - sculpting, painting, drawing. Those who decided to progress from being a 3D enthusiast / hobbyist and become a professional (and by that I simply mean earning money by doing 3D) sooner or later had to answer the question - should I work as a freelancer or would it be better to apply for a job in one of the CG agencies out there? Perhaps I should even consider staring my own creative agency?

We wanted to proudly inform you that our entire chocofur shaders and textures library were contributed to the Blender Cloud which means they're now released under CC0 license. How does it work in practice? Quoting from the Creative Commons source:
"You can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission."
In other words, all of the shaders and textures are now released as "open source" assets which you can use without any limitations. There are three ways you can download these assets:

Another update we're very proud to announce! Log In to our website and download Chocofur Base Shaders completely for free! What are these shaders?
Blender and Cycles are amazing, we all know that. However, in some areas they still lack official solutions that could speed up your daily work. Premade Cycles shaders have always been a big issue and we've decided to solve the problem at least for our own, production needs. Chocofur Arch Viz Shaders are 12 node groups combined in 5 different base shaders. Each one of these shaders comes in Basic and Advanced version. From very simple, glossy shaders to advanced, double sided vegetation materials we think that it's possible to enclose vast majority of surrounding materials into small yet very flexible group of premade shaders.
All Chocofur Base Shaders are available for free after logging in to your account in the upper, navigation bar. Stay tuned as there's still much more to come in terms of shaders very soon!
